Shattering the Silence in Massachusetts

NSSC Massachusetts has been a strong and growing presence since 2017, bringing together families, peers, and professionals committed to improving the lives of people affected by severe mental illness. The chapter is led by President & Chief Executive Officer Ann Corcoran, a Massachusetts resident, and State Policy Director Lynda Cutrell.

Our membership represents a deeply committed community of stakeholders, including families of individuals at Bridgewater State Hospital and others who have experienced firsthand the challenges and gaps within our mental health system. Families, peers, and professionals bring unique perspectives to this work, united by a shared commitment to compassion, timely treatment, family voice, and meaningful change.

Lynda Cutrell

Massachusetts Policy Director

Lynda brings decades of lived experience to her work with NSSC Massachusetts, helping lead our efforts on Beacon Hill while educating, supporting, and connecting families affected by severe mental illness. As someone who has learned the way to navigate through the fragmented mental health system in MA firsthand, she is committed to helping families understand the system, partnering with organizations across Massachusetts, and working to create meaningful change so that no family is left without support when they need it most.
